Dr. Dimaranan didn't start out with a career in optometry but as an aeronautical engineer. Why the switch? "I didn't want to just sit in a cubicle staring at a computer monitor my entire career" says Dr. Liza Dimaranan. "I realized I enjoyed working with my co-workers and having more personal interaction with individuals more than anything else." So she went back to school to obtain her doctorate in optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry. After obtaining her degree, Dr. Dimaranan worked in a private practice and for an ophthalmologist, gaining valuable experience, before obtaining her own practice in Pico Rivera.

This gives the doctor a tremendous starting point regarding your visual condition. It also tells the doctor if you are a good candidate for contact lenses. This test must be performed annually since the values can change due to growth, disease, degeneration, and stress. |
Visual Fields This instrument is called a Visual Fields. It is the most sophisticated instrument in our clinic, as its data can more easily detect more eye diseases for the doctor to interpret. The findings from this test enable the doctor to determine if there is any retinal disease or any disease behind the eye to the back of the brain. This test must be done every year since the conditions that we are looking for can develop at any age and at any time.
